Automated Film Props is a WbAV Productions initiative applying coding and automation to traditional, virtual, and stage productions.
Why?
We think that sets have lost their magic. Actors are having to deliver performances whilst imaging the set around them.

Its not just the actor who suffers, its the audience. Films become less believable and actors have less presence on the screen. The audience senses a disconnect between performance and surroundings.

Virtual Production combined with Prop Automation gives us the ideal opportunity to solve these issues.
What?
Live action props that can actually perform functions. Actors have more to engage with and to react from. The more realistic the set, the more present an actor can be which ultimately transpires into a better watching experience for the audience.
Directors and Directors of Photography benefit too, lighting, framing and visualisation are all made easier when more of the set is in camera instead of being imagined.

In virtual productions, gone are the days of lining up the plates and unreal environment by eye. Our encoders feed this data instantly into the system so that the background moves seamlessly with turntables and treadmills.
